The infection is one problem. The refugees are another.
[And both problems had been bothering him.]
I can't sit by idly why these inequalities and injustices are happening, which is why for the moment I've been focused on finding out more about the society and history of this realm.
[It wasn't much, but for the moment it was all he knew how to do.]
The sailors at the port tend to have more information than what more... official sources are able to share with us. It isn't much, but the stories they tell have been quite informative.
The refugees are...likely a problem that can be solved by working against the infection. By removing the necessity for the Bright Wall to exist, they can find homes in the surrounding areas safely.
And there will likely be less resource scarcity, as well.
A good deal more than the Coven was willing to share when we arrived,
[Lorenz said with a shrug. Although he had gotten deeper into drink than he had planned on his first encounter with the sailors in the Harbor District, he had learned that they were amiable enough with anyone willing to share a table with them and keep an open mind.]
The situation has changed little, unfortunately. The way they treat Monsters in Dorchact is appalling... and it's only superficially better here.
Removing the resource scarcity is certainly the primary end goal concerning that situation, but it's likely you're correct. Fixing the source of the Infection may indeed be our best option to right these wrongs.
I'm recounting what they were suggesting while they were too deep in the bottles to stand.[Lorenz said stiffly. He knew the situation well enough.]
Nothing here reaches that level, but the relations are certainly strained among the residents native to this world. The sailors make me wonder how deep this disparity goes...
Possibly-- and our status as travellers from another realm certainly doesn't help the strain on the local government and the Coven to provide for everyone.
...There may be more riots to quell in the future, if not something more.
[Lorenz chuckled despite himself, riding along the freedoms granted by the flow of wine and the rhythm of the dance floor.]
Of course you would be granted introduction. A fine man like you would be among the first I woudld consider! Though, I'd be indebted to you if you did avoid such tales. Claude isn't one to ignore an opportunity to tease!
Mm. I agree. People like that are the most wearisome.
[Lorenz nodded as he spoke, recalling the many times he had witnessed arguments break out over trivialities at the table of law. Between the various opinions, it was difficult to get anything accomplished.]
Hopefully, you haven't encountered that often within these walls... have you?
[ There's a brief pause while Percy takes and then releases a long breath, though one side of his mouth kicks up slightly. ]
No. Not yet, anyway.
[ Though that might be because he hasn't bothered offering too many opinions in his time here. It's been easier to keep a low profile -- or at least as low as he can. ]
Mostly just scrambling to catch up with whatever the latest catastrophe has been.
MASQUERADE: Noveur 8 OVERFLOW
Edelgard
[He smiled-- ever polite, ever earnest in his own way.]
Should you wish for help in these matters, you can feel welcome to ask. There's precious little to do between crises in this town.
[Please give him someone to fawn over, even a little bit.]

[She waves out, towards the wall.]
We should focus on helping our hosts, I believe.

[Lorenz said, nodding in agreemnt.]
What sort of things did you have in mind?

[It's a start.]

[It's just a thought.]
What have the sailors told you?

[Imagine that.]
Strange, but I think a lot of it may be the status as refugees more than their monsterhood.

...There may be more riots to quell in the future, if not something more.

Though, that does not really seem to be something that we can do much about.

But, we may meet an opportunity in the future. Time may stand still for us in Fodlan, but not here.
